Series 307 - Clovelly
The original box for this set of views.
Clovelly is a unique fishing village in Devon, in the south west of England. Unique because even today it's private owned. No cars are allowed - and when these photos were taken, donkeys were used to transport goods up and down the village. The photographer seemed to like the donkeys - 5 of the 10 shots feature them as the main subject! It's worth looking online to see photos of it today - compare to these photos and see just how little time has changed Clovelly, almost 70 years later. Click on each to get a larger version to view.
